All about me..

I was born just outside Toronto, Canada and lived there for the first 14 years of my life.  This really was the foundation of who I am.  To be Canadian is to accept other cultures and make them part of you, making your life richer in the process. I moved to the UK and just over 30 years later I still have my accent. A permanent tourist now.

I have always loved art, design & photography.  I think its because I like to create and make things but also I'm very empathetic so this lends itself to these fields.  I kind of fell into photography and loved it from the very beginning.  When I started it was still film and a chemical process.  Nothing quite being like being in darkroom with red light all around, watching your black and white photograph emerge from the chemicals.  It was slow by todays standards but what you made mattered because it was the only way to create images.  The prints you would make would be of families and the world around us, capturing memories and the world as it changed.  However as photography changed so did I.  I loved computers too so while I waited for my prints to dry I would spend hours in the computer lab learning how to use Photoshop 3.0.

The love of computers came early on for me.  The Internet was just launched, Nintendo was taking off and Atari was still king of the arcade.  I spent a lot of my childhood in arcades.  I discovered I liked coding and problem solving and the two went hand in hand.  I still create... still code... still make my own projects.  I wouldn't be me if I didn't.  I hope you enjoy my work.
